BOOKS OF THE WEEK – THE CHOCOLATE BOX GIRLS

The first two books in the Chocolate Box Girls series, Cherry Crush and Marshmallow Skye, are not new, but all of Cathy Cassidy’s books have just been repackaged with really gorgeous covers, so I though it was worth showing them off. Cathy Cassidy writes about friendship and sisters and first love and chocolate, and she holds the current Queen of Teen title (although voting is now underway for the 2012 competition – click here if you want to vote).

From the blurb of Cherry Crush

Cherry Costello’s life is about to change forever. She and Dad are moving to Somerset where a new mum and a bunch of brand-new sisters await.

And on Cherry’s first day there she meets gorgeous Shay Fletcher; the kind of boy who should carry a government health warning.

and from Marshmallow Skye

Skye and Summer are identical twins. They do everything together, but lately Skye’s been feeling like second-best – it’s the story of her life. And when her friend Alfie confesses he’s fallen not for her but for Summer it hurts.

Skye wants to be her own person, but, with an effortlessly cool twin, will she get her own chance to shine?

The third book in this series, Summer’s Dream,  is due to be published on the 7th of June; it’s on the library  ‘to buy’ list.
