Branford Boase Award

bbThe Branford Boase Award is given annually to a children’s book by a new author – and they are obviously very good at picking their winners. Several have gone on to become very well known, and some have won other awards. Previous Banford Boase winners include Siobhan Dowd, Jenny Downham, Mal Peet and Marcus Sedgwick amongst others (you can find the full list on the website – click on the logo).

The 2014 shortlist is…

  • Winter Damage, by Natasha Carthew
  • Infinite Sky, by C. J. Flood
  • Wild Boy, by Rob Lloyd Jones
  • Red Ink, by Julie Mayhew
  • Alex, the Dog and the Unopenable Door, by Ross Montgomery
  • The Poison Boy, by Fletcher Moss
  • Geek Girl, by Holly Smale

Some of these books are already in the library; the rest are on order and will be here shortly. We will be featuring them on the blackboard display and the blog over the next few weeks.
