Book of the Week – Shoot to Kill by Steve Cole

YOUNG BOND paperbackSteve Cole is a Bond fan, and it really shows in this book – Shoot to Kill feels just like an earlier, funnier, undiscovered James Bond story. The blurb on the back says…

Lights.
Camera.
Murder.

James is caught up in a sinister plot that goes way beyond any Hollywood movie. And now he must find a way out.

Or die trying.

There are five other Young Bond books, by Charlie Higson in the junior fiction section of the library.

Wednesday 17th April – Casino Royale

This week is the 60th anniversary of the publication of Ian Fleming’s first James Bond book – Casino Royale. Although almost everyone has seen at least one of the films (personally I think Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever) the books are perhaps a little less popular, which is a shame, because they are very exciting reads.

We have some in the fiction section – including Casino Royale – why not try reading Bond instead of watching?

Friday 26th October – Skyfall

The new James Bond film, Skyfall, is on general release today. It looks amazing!

Ian Fleming’s James Bond books are as action-packed as the films (that’s why they were made into films in the first place) and are the perfect thing to read while you’re waiting to go and see the film.
